Torpedo Squadron 8 (VT-8) was the first squadron to be outfitted with the TBM Avenger torpedo bomber. These decals depict the squadron as the aircraft were painted at the factory. Decals include the notable 13 red and white stripes on the rudder. The Avengers of VT-8 did not sport this distinctive paint scheme for long. They were re-painted in the traditional early war USN/USMC scheme shortly after being received at Midway Atol and prior to participating in the famous Battle of Midway. Enough decals to complete 8 planes, including 8-T-1 the only Avenger of Torpedo Squadron 8 to survive the battle of midway.
