Torpedo Squadron 8 (VT-8) was the first squadron to be outfitted with the TBM Avenger torpedo bomber. Shortly after being received at Midway Atol, the Avengers of VT-8 were repainted from their pre-war colors to the traditional early war USN/USMC. The decals on this sheet depict Torpedo Squadron 8 as they appeared during the battle of midway. Enough decals to complete 8 planes, including 8-T-1 the only Avenger of Torpedo Squadron 8 to survive the battle of midway.
